ManagementInStar is lead by a team of seasoned professionals whose extensive experience within the radiology industry augments the company’s ability to expertly serve its customers and to improve product capabilities. The senior management team is comprised of John P. Wellbank, Richard A. VanEaton and Scott B. White. John P. WellbankJohn P. Wellbank serves as chief executive officer. In this capacity, he heads the company, managing its growth and development and directing its vision. Wellbank was appointed CEO in May 2005, concurrent with National Medical Development’s purchase of the company from its founders. Wellbank possesses more than 25 years of related experience within the imaging industry. Most notably, he served as vice president of sales for Philips Medical Systems. He was responsible for operations, sales, marketing and new business development across all Philips Medical product lines including PET, Nuc Med, PACS, MRI, CT, U/S, Surgery, X-Ray, Cardiac and Special Procedures. Toward this end, Wellbank oversaw revenue growth, directed the business plan and fostered local marketing efforts while controlling budgets and managing operations. In a previous role at Philips, as zone vice president, Wellbank led what was believed to be the most challenging zone upon a corporate restructuring in 1999. He managed sales for the Western U.S. with 10 direct and 75 indirect reports, representing $300 million in business. During his extensive career at Philips, Wellbank held many positions including regional sales manager, area sales manager, x-ray specialist, account manager and installation manager, among others. He continually climbed the ladder toward senior management with each successful promotion. VanEatonRichard A. VanEaton, chief operating officer, oversees the company’s day-to-day operations. Van Eaton co-founded the company in 2001 and served as CEO and president for four years. Van Eaton brings more than 16 years of healthcare, technology, strategic planning and management experience to InStar. He possesses strong entrepreneurial, customer service and operational planning skills with a combination of technical knowledge and business acumen. Prior to InStar Systems, he formed and served as CEO of a software development and business intelligence company. Before starting his technology companies, Van Eaton was a senior strategic planner and financial analyst in the airline industry. Link to the email:rvaneaton@instarsystems.com Scott B. WhiteScott B. White holds the post of chief technical officer. In this role, he manages InStar’s development team, maintenance and support services. Other responsibilities include administration of the company’s IT staff, management of hardware and software procurement and management of internal infrastructure. White has aquired keen insight into today’s constantly changing information technology arena, based on his 25 years of experience in the sector. White co-founded the company along with Van Eaton in 2001. During the past five years, he was involved in all facets of the software design and development lifecycle including project management, procurement, database design and development, user interface development, business logic development, unit testing and formal acceptance testing. Before starting InStar, White held a range of project management and/or consultant roles with companies such as Perot Systems, Geodynamics Corporation, Martin Marrieta, Loral Aerospace and MacDonald-Douglass.
